Coastal Tote Co. is a locally operated equipment rental business based in Savannah, Georgia. We provide reusable plastic storage totes and related equipment for hire to residential and commercial customers in the Savannah area and surrounding regions.

2. Equipment
2.1 All totes, moving dollies, and any other equipment supplied by Coastal Tote Co. remain the property of Coastal Tote Co. at all times.
2.2 Equipment is provided clean and in good working condition at the point of delivery. We photograph all equipment immediately prior to delivery as a record of its condition.
2.3 Totes are heavy duty plastic storage containers with secure lids. They are designed for general household and commercial moving purposes. They are not suitable for storing hazardous materials, flammable substances, chemicals, perishable food, or any items prohibited by law.
2.4 You are responsible for ensuring the equipment is used only for its intended purpose and in a safe and lawful manner.
3. Booking and Payment
3.1 All bookings must be made through our website at coastaltoteco.com.
3.2 Your rental fee, any applicable distance surcharges, and the payment processing fee (2.9% + $0.30) are charged in full at the time of booking. No booking is confirmed until full payment has been received. There is no upfront damage deposit.
3.3 Prices are as displayed on our website at the time of booking. All prices are in US dollars.
3.4 Rental fees are charged on a weekly basis at $3.50 per tote per week. The minimum rental period is one week. Where your rental period does not fall on an exact number of weeks, the total number of days will be rounded up to the nearest full week and charged accordingly. For example a rental period of 9 days will be charged as 2 weeks.
3.5 The rental period begins on the date of delivery and ends on the date of collection as agreed at the time of booking.
3.6 Extensions to your rental period are available on request. Please contact us at hello@coastaltoteco.com before your scheduled collection date to arrange an extension. Additional weekly charges will apply at the standard rate of $3.50 per tote per week.
3.7 Moving dolly rental is charged at $25 per week, calculated on the same weekly basis as tote rentals. The number of days between delivery and collection is rounded up to the nearest full week and multiplied by $25.
3.8 We accept payment by debit card and credit card via our secure payment processor Stripe. Your card is securely saved by Stripe for the duration of your rental — see Section 5 for full details. We never see or store your full card details.
4. Delivery and Collection
4.1 We offer delivery and collection within our service area. Our standard service area covers locations within 25 miles of Savannah, GA. Deliveries and collections outside this zone may be available subject to a distance surcharge of $25 per 25 miles beyond the free zone, calculated independently for the delivery address and the collection address.
4.2 Locations where the combined delivery and collection distance exceeds 75 miles from Savannah may be outside our service area entirely. We reserve the right to decline bookings outside our serviceable area.
4.3 Delivery and collection will be made to the addresses specified at the time of booking. It is your responsibility to ensure both addresses are accurate. We are not responsible for failed deliveries or collections resulting from incorrect address information.
4.4 We will confirm your delivery time slot within 24 hours of your booking being placed. Delivery slots are subject to availability and operational scheduling.
4.5 You or a nominated representative must be present at the delivery address to receive the equipment. If nobody is available to receive the delivery we reserve the right to reschedule and may charge a redelivery fee of $25.
4.6 Similarly you or a nominated representative must be available at the collection address on the agreed collection date. If nobody is available for collection we reserve the right to reschedule and may charge a failed collection fee of $25.
4.7 We photograph all equipment at the point of delivery and at the point of collection. These photographs form the official record of equipment condition and are time and date stamped.
4.8 Delivery and collection is carried out by Coastal Tote Co. staff or contractors. We ask that safe and reasonable access is provided to the delivery and collection addresses at all times.
5. Damage, Loss and Tote Purchases
5.1 No damage deposit is charged at the time of booking. Instead your payment card is securely saved by Stripe for the duration of your rental period.
5.2 Your saved card will only be charged in the event of damage, loss, or if you choose to purchase totes at collection. All charges will be discussed with you before processing.
5.3 Damaged totes are charged at $12.00 per tote. If a tote is damaged you keep it — it is yours at that point. Damaged totes are typically still suitable for home storage use.
5.4 Lost or missing totes are charged at $12.00 per tote.
5.5 If you wish to purchase totes at the end of your rental period — for example because you have not finished unpacking — you may do so at $12.00 per tote. We understand that moves take time and are happy to accommodate this.
5.6 Moving dolly damage or loss is charged at $89.00 — the full replacement cost.
5.7 Normal wear and minor surface marks consistent with reasonable use will not result in any charge.
5.8 All charges are discussed with the customer at the point of collection before any payment is processed. We provide photographic evidence for any damage charge.
5.9 If you dispute a charge you may contact us at hello@coastaltoteco.com within 7 days. We will review all evidence and respond within 48 hours.
5.10 At the point of delivery you will be asked to sign a rental agreement confirming you have read and understood these terms. The rental agreement will be emailed to you immediately upon signing.
6. Your Responsibilities
6.1 You are responsible for the equipment from the moment of delivery until the moment of collection.
6.2 You must not sublet, lend, or transfer the equipment to any third party without our prior written consent.
6.3 You must not use the equipment to transport: hazardous, toxic, flammable, or corrosive materials; illegal substances or items; perishable food items; animals or living creatures; any items prohibited by local, state, or federal law.
6.4 You must take reasonable care of the equipment and protect it from avoidable damage, theft, or loss.
6.5 If any equipment is lost or stolen during your rental period you must notify us immediately at hello@coastaltoteco.com. You will be liable for the full replacement cost of any lost or stolen items.
6.6 You must ensure the equipment is accessible and ready for collection at the agreed time and address. Equipment should be emptied and stacked ready for collection. We are not responsible for any items left inside totes at the time of collection.
6.7 You are responsible for ensuring adequate access for our delivery and collection vehicle at both addresses. We are not responsible for any damage to private property, driveways, or access routes.
7. Cancellations and Refunds
7.1 You may cancel your booking free of charge up to 48 hours before your scheduled delivery date. To cancel please email hello@coastaltoteco.com with your booking reference.
7.2 Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery date are non-refundable for the rental fee.
7.3 If we are unable to fulfil your booking for any reason within our control we will offer you a full refund of all amounts paid.
7.4 We reserve the right to cancel a booking where the delivery or collection address is found to be outside our service area, where access cannot be safely arranged, or where we have reasonable grounds to believe the booking has been made fraudulently. A full refund will be issued in such cases.
7.5 We do not offer refunds for early returns. If you return the equipment before your agreed collection date no partial refund of the rental fee will be issued.
8. Liability
8.1 Coastal Tote Co. is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or consequential loss arising from the use of our equipment by you or any third party.
8.2 You use the equipment entirely at your own risk. It is your responsibility to ensure the equipment is used safely and appropriately.
8.3 We are not liable for any damage to your belongings, property, or premises arising from the use of our equipment.
8.4 Our total liability to you in connection with any booking shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for that booking.
8.5 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Service Area and Availability
9.1 Our standard service area covers locations within 25 miles of Savannah, GA including but not limited to Savannah, Richmond Hill, Pooler, and Hinesville.
9.2 We operate Monday through Saturday. We do not offer delivery or collection on Sundays or on the following public holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
9.3 We reserve the right to modify our service area, operating hours, or pricing at any time. Any changes will be reflected on our website and will not affect bookings already confirmed.
9.4 Equipment availability is subject to stock levels. In the unlikely event that we cannot fulfil your order due to availability we will contact you as soon as possible and offer a full refund or alternative date.
10. Privacy
10.1 We collect your personal information solely for the purpose of processing and fulfilling your booking. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except where necessary to process payment via Stripe or fulfil your order.
10.2 Photographs taken at delivery and collection are retained for 90 days following completion of your rental and then securely deleted unless required for an ongoing dispute.

11. Governing Law
11.1 These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States.
11.2 Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chatham County, Georgia.
12. Changes to These Terms
12.1 We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. The current version will always be published at coastaltoteco.com/terms.
12.2 Your continued use of our services following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
