The Totes
Every rental includes heavy duty plastic totes with secure lids, free delivery to your current address, and free collection from your new address. You can also add a moving dolly to your order for $25 per week.
Our totes are heavy duty plastic storage containers with secure clip-on lids. They are stackable and waterproof. Approximately 27 gallons — large enough to pack a full room efficiently.
Yes — lids are always included. No tape, no assembly, just pack and go.
Yes — all totes are cleaned and inspected between every rental. We won't send you anything we wouldn't use ourselves.
As a general guide: Studio 15–20 totes, 1 Bedroom 20–30 totes, 2 Bedroom 30–45 totes, 3 Bedroom 45–65 totes, 4 Bedroom 65–80 totes. Not sure? Email us at hello@coastaltoteco.com and we'll help.
Our totes are designed for moving household and personal items. They are not suitable for hazardous materials, chemicals, flammable substances, perishable food, animals, or anything prohibited by law.
Pricing & Payment
Rental is charged at $3.50 per tote per week. We calculate the number of days between your delivery and collection date and round up to the nearest full week. So if your rental runs for 9 days you are charged for 2 weeks. There is a minimum rental period of 1 week. A payment processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 is added at checkout.
As long as you need. When you book you select a collection date but if you need longer just email us at hello@coastaltoteco.com before that date and we'll push it back. Additional weeks are charged at the standard rate.
Yes — just contact us before your scheduled collection date and we'll arrange an extension at $3.50 per tote per week.
We accept all major debit and credit cards via Stripe. Your rental fee is charged at the time of booking, and your card is securely saved by Stripe for the duration of your rental in case of damage, loss, or if you choose to keep any totes at collection. We never see or store your full card details.
No — there is no upfront damage deposit. Instead your card is securely saved by Stripe and would only be charged for damage, loss, or totes you choose to keep at collection. We discuss any charge with you in person before processing it.
Booking
Head to coastaltoteco.com and click Order Now. Our booking wizard walks you through the whole process in 5 simple steps — zone check, your move details, your package, your details, and payment. The whole thing takes about 3 minutes.
We ask for at least 48 hours notice. For larger orders or specific time slot requirements we'd recommend booking as early as possible.
We serve Savannah and surrounding areas within 75 miles. Free delivery and collection is included within 25 miles of Savannah covering Richmond Hill, Pooler, and Hinesville. Beyond 25 miles a distance surcharge of $25 per 25 miles applies. You can check your zone instantly on our booking page.
Enter your delivery and collection zip codes on the first step of our booking page. We'll check your distance instantly and let you know whether you're in the free zone, in the surcharge zone, or outside our current service area.
A moving dolly is available as an optional add-on for $25 per week. It makes loading and unloading significantly easier and we'd recommend it for most moves.
Delivery & Collection
We'll confirm your delivery time slot within 24 hours of your booking. We'll be in touch by email to agree a window that works for you.
Yes — you or a nominated representative must be present at both addresses. If nobody is available we may reschedule and charge a $25 failed delivery or collection fee.
Yes — at delivery our driver will ask you to sign a short rental agreement on their phone or tablet. It confirms the equipment you've received and the rates that apply for any damage, loss, or totes you choose to keep. A copy is emailed to you immediately upon signing.
Yes — and they almost always are. Your delivery address is your current home. Your collection address is your new home. Both are entered separately during booking.
We operate Monday through Saturday. We do not deliver or collect on Sundays or major public holidays.
Damage & Loss
If a tote is damaged during your rental we charge $12 and you get to keep it. It's probably still perfectly fine for home storage — it's just not in rental condition. We'll discuss any damage with you at collection before processing any charge. We photograph all equipment at delivery and collection so everything is fully documented.
Lost totes are charged at $12 each — the same rate as a damaged tote. We'll discuss this with you at collection before processing any charge.
Absolutely — and we understand that not everything gets unpacked at once. If you want to hold onto some totes for extra storage just let us know at collection. We'll charge $12 per tote and they're yours to keep. It's the same rate whether you damaged one or just decided you love them.
Moving dolly damage or loss is charged at $89 — the replacement cost. We'll discuss this with you at collection and provide photo evidence before processing any charge.
We save your card securely via Stripe to cover any damage, loss, or tote purchases at collection. You'll never be charged without us discussing it with you first and providing full photo documentation. Your card details are stored securely by Stripe — we never have access to your full card number.
Minor surface marks and scuffs consistent with reasonable household use are normal wear and won't result in any charge.
Cancellations
You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before your scheduled delivery date by emailing hello@coastaltoteco.com with your booking reference. Cancellations within 48 hours of delivery are non-refundable for the rental fee.
We don't offer partial refunds for early returns. Your saved card is only charged additionally if damage, loss, or tote purchases occur at collection.
In the unlikely event we can't fulfil your booking we'll contact you as soon as possible and issue a full refund.
